Is poverty a state of mind or nature?

Poverty is not having enough money to meet basic needs including food, clothing  and shelter.  However poverty is more much more than just not having enough money.

Can one blame  someone for poverty?

  6. Being poor is a choice. If a 15 year old can leave his or her parents and go to a foreign country to get a job and make a living, what can stop a grown up to? Except in the case of disabled people.

  18. Poverty starts in the mind, I think people can change the way they think, and believe in themself for great things. The word poverty wouldn't be found in their vocabulary.

  20. We can't blame anyone for poverty because from my perspective, I believe anyone is given the intellect and intelligence to make something about their life. A person can choose to be poor or rich, it's up to them whether they use the talents they are given or not🤷‍♂️

  26. No, we can't blame anyone for poverty, we all have the ability to make our lives improve and flourish, by working hard and actually making something out of our lives. But problem is we are always looking for the easiest ways to succeed and of which never last or we are always hoping for someone to actually improve our lives while we can do that. As black people we are lazy to actually work towards our goals.

  33. We can definitely blame people for poverty. We could blame those who hold power – corrupt government officials, a skewed economic system which keeps increasing wealth and power for elites at the expense of the majority of the people in the country.

  34. Those who say that poverty is a choice, especially those who were once poor, are lucky to have had access to various opportunities that allowed them to move further up the social ladder. But it is not a choice, it is a product of the conditions formed and perpetuated by society

  39. Poverty is a state of mind, one is as rich or as poor as their minds, what one think,is what they become,if a person views themselves as poor they act poor, they associate with poor people and therefore circulate in a poverty circle, but if one decides to break the circle and Start thinking rich, acting rich and keeping an association of rich people, then automatically the world start viewing them as rich
